Chacras is a small town dating back to 1902, characterized by its charming old houses and tree-lined streets, making it perfect for exploring on foot. Its tranquility, culture, pleasant microclimate, and vibrant commerce make it an unmissable destination just a few kilometers from the city of Mendoza.
Its central hub is the "Plaza General Espejo", which is particularly busy on Sundays due to the popular artisan fair held there. Opposite the square is the historic church "Nuestra Señora del Perpetuo Socorro" and a theater where children’s plays are often performed.
A few blocks from the square, on Mitre Street, you'll find the old train station "Paso de Los Andes", which operated until 1984.
Chacras is an ideal place to visit for its classic tree-lined streets, grand mansions, shopping centers, restaurants, and bars.
