Trekking excursion to the "Dedos" (Fingers) and "Manos" (Hands) mountains, located in the foothills near Potrerillos along Route 7. The trek offers stunning views of the city of Mendoza, the pre-mountain range, and even Lake Potrerillos in the distance.
The trailhead is located near an old stone quarry on Route 7. There, you'll find an animal shelter where you can park your vehicle. Local residents are usually kind enough to point out the entrance to the trail, which is on the right side of the quarry.
The trail is of easy difficulty, though there are no water sources and you will be exposed to the sun for most of the hike.
If you plan to summit both mountains, the complete route covers around 10 km and will take at least 7 hours, depending on your physical condition. If you only wish to summit "Dedos" mountain, the time is roughly cut in half.
This trail is popular, especially on weekends and holidays.
Throughout the hike, you’ll enjoy many beautiful views of the pre-mountain range, with Lake Potrerillos visible in the distance.
Both summits are marked by structures built by mountaineers in previous years.
