Cerro Camello

Camel Mountain

Trekking excursion in the Cacheuta pre-mountain range. Climbing the hills offers unbeatable views of the city of Mendoza, the pre-mountain range, and even Lake Potrerillos in the distance. While the route is not technically difficult, it is lengthy and covers several kilometers.

The trailhead is located along Route 82, also known as the Pan-American Route, near the curve in front of the Mendoza River. The trail is well-marked, and from the entrance, the ascent up a steep mountain begins.

Though the trail is of easy difficulty, it is a long route with no water sources and very little shade, leaving hikers exposed to the sun.

It is recommended to bring plenty of water for the entire trek, which, round trip, will take approximately 7 hours for an average person.

This trail is popular, especially on weekends and holidays, and offers stunning views of the pre-mountain range, with Lake Potrerillos visible in the distance.

The trek culminates at "Camello" mountain (Camel Mountain), marked by a metal camel statue at the summit.
